The Mardi Himal Trek is considered mild in difficulty and it's one of the easier treks in Nepal. We will be reaching about 5,500m so we will encounter some altitude at a certain point - however, we will be taking time at rest stops as we go up, so the effect of the altitude will be lessened.

The views are magnificent - with Macchupuchre seen up close from the walk. This is considered a sacred mountain, believed to be one of the homes of the Hindu God Shiva, and one of the few mountains that has remained unclimbed in Nepal due to the Government protecting the mountain by prohibiting climbing.

We will be trekking in Rhododendron season, the national flower of Nepal. The trail will be lined in places with flowering rhododendrons in red and pink, a striking contrast to the snow capped mountains. The photos above were taken by Sabin, our trekking guide, who recently walked the trail.

The trek is 6 days in duration and we walk for approx 5-6 hours per day - with some long stretches uphill and downhill. The pace of the walking is very reasonable, and we will have porters and jeeps to carry our luggage ahead to each teahouse - so no need to carry a pack.

The only thing you need to carry during the trek is a small backpack with your camera, water bottle, snacks, wallet/passport and other small personal belongings. We are staying in teahouses along the way, so there will be showers and beds and cosy places to recoup after a long day of trekking!

We recommend some training beforehand - especially climbing stairs and finding hills to climb. Having good sturdy hiking boots will be important, and poles if you have knee or ankle issues.

About the trek

find the answers you seek within yourself…

Some people think that ‘finding yourself’ is something that only applies to those who are lost, or who are struggling in life.

We all have parts of us that are hidden from our conscious minds - that lie within the subconscious and create a barrier to living to our fullest potential.

And so ‘finding yourself’ can simply mean allowing yourself the clear space and time for your inner knowing to arise; to make the subconscious conscious; and to use tools like breathwork to quieten the mind so that the whisper of intuition can be heard.

Through the daily practices of breath work, yoga and meditation on our Nepal Trekking retreat, you will be supported to gently explore these hidden aspects of yourself, allowing you to process and release things that may be holding you back from living your fullest and most connected life.

Set against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring Himalayas, we think its going to be something pretty special.
