About the experience
The Poon Hill trek is considered mild in difficulty and is one of the more accessible short treks in Nepal—ideal if you want big mountain views without extreme altitude. Our route begins in Banthanti and tops out at the Poon Hill viewpoint (around 3,200 m), so while the air gets cooler and thinner, we’ll take our time with steady pacing and regular rest stops to keep everyone comfortable.
The scenery is classic Annapurna. We walk through terraced fields and beautiful rhododendron and oak forests, with stone stairways winding beneath tall trees and occasional clearings that open to Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Dhaulagiri. From Ghorepani, an early pre‑dawn start takes us up to Poon Hill for sunrise—often a highlight of the trip—with a sweeping panorama of 8,000‑meter peaks glowing pink and gold as the day begins. After breakfast, we continue along ridgelines and descents through forest and village paths to Ghandruk, a historic Gurung village known for its traditional houses, flagstoned lanes, and welcoming teahouses.
We’ll be trekking in November, which is typically dry and clear. Expect crisp mornings, comfortable daytime walking temperatures, and chilly evenings—layers are key. The trek is 3 days in duration and we’ll walk approximately 4–6 hours per day, with stretches of uphill and downhill on well‑established trails. The pace is very reasonable. Porters will carry our main bags between teahouses, so there’s no need to carry a heavy pack.
You’ll only need a small daypack with your camera/phone, water bottle, snacks, wallet/passport, and a few personal items. We’ll stay in local teahouses each night—simple rooms, hot meals, warm drinks, and cosy common areas to relax and recharge.
We recommend some preparation beforehand—especially stair climbing and local hill walks to build leg strength. Sturdy, well‑broken‑in hiking boots are important; trekking poles are helpful if you have knee or ankle concerns.

find the answers you seek within yourself…
Some people think that ‘finding yourself’ is something that only applies to those who are lost, or who are struggling in life.
We all have parts of us that are hidden from our conscious minds - that lie within the subconscious and create a barrier to living to our fullest potential.
And so ‘finding yourself’ can simply mean allowing yourself the clear space and time for your inner knowing to arise; to make the subconscious conscious; and to use tools like breathwork to quieten the mind so that the whisper of intuition can be heard.
Through the daily practices of breath work, yoga and meditation on our Nepal Trekking retreat, you will be supported to gently explore these hidden aspects of yourself, allowing you to process and release things that may be holding you back from living your fullest and most connected life.
Set against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring Himalayas, we think its going to be something pretty special.
